Hi, I’m Paul — a multidisciplinary creative who’s been designing, illustrating, animating, coding, and painting for as long as I can remember. I specialize in building beautiful, functional websites from the ground up, creating custom illustrations and motion graphics, painting and teaching watercolour.
I started learning to code on a Commodore 64 when being a computer nerd wasn’t exactly cool. Around the same time, I built my own darkroom at age 14 and became a professional photographer at 15. By 22, I had opened my own fashion photography studio in Toronto. Later, I held an executive position at The Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper, where I combined creativity with strategic vision.
My creative path has never been one-dimensional. I built a full letterpress studio in my basement, launched an online business at the beginning of the eCommerce revolution, and have continued to evolve ever since. I started my journey in motion graphics building interactive sales DVDs with Macromedia Flash animations — and haven’t looked back since. Whether it’s branding, print, digital, or motion — I bring deep experience and hands-on skill to every project.
I’ve worked with not-for-profits, cultural organizations, and independent businesses, delivering everything from brand identities to full-scale digital platforms. My toolbox includes the full Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, WordPress (where I build both front-end and custom back-end functionality), and a genuine love of figuring things out.
Along the way, I developed my own line of handmade watercolour paint, taught over 200 in-person classes, and now offer online lessons as well. I also spent a year volunteering around the world, teaching digital media in developing countries — an experience that deepened my passion for sharing skills and connecting through creativity.
Two meaningful sabbaticals have also shaped my career. In the first, I volunteered with Catalyst Plus, teaching people in developing countries how to use digital media to build their brands, working directly with chocolate producers, coffee growers, mango farmers, and more. In the second, I sailed solo from the Caribbean to Annapolis, a journey that tested me physically and mentally, and taught me resilience, adaptability, and fast decision-making under pressure.
If you need someone who can wear all the hats—and knows when to take one off—let’s talk.
