July 27 Watercolour for Beginners - Watercolour and Ink
The level one workshop will introduce you to the simple yet exciting method of pen and ink used with watercolour to create wonderful whimsical artwork. This is meant for beginners as well as those that are interested in mixing their existing watercolour experience with Pen and ink.
The focus of the workshop will be on the basic techniques used in watercolour and ink washes. This is a great introduction into painting in general. This workshop will teach you the basics of drawing using basic shapes using pen and ink. This is such a rewarding method of painting, you can carry all the materials you need with you anywhere and paint anywhere.
This instruction method is well proven to help even the most apprehensive students get past their fear of starting in watercolour. ANYONE can learn how to paint in any medium, there is no such thing as "having" talent, it comes as a result of learning and practicing. The class sizes are kept small so that I can work with students individually.
By the end of the workshop you will have the knowledge to practice and paint any of the paintings shown below as well as apply this method to any subject you choose.
Cost - $75 per person, all painting materials are provided, please bring a notepad and something to take notes with. ( pen or pencil ). If you have painting materials already feel free to bring them.
The workshop will start at 10am, it will run for 3-4 hours not including a break for lunch. Lots of great places to eat at the Wincey Mills.
The workshop will take place on the 3rd floor of the Wincey Mills Market in the Mill Room. ( Unit 2 ) You can access this via the elevator to the left of the main gallery. Do not use the stairs as the door at the top of the stairs will be locked.
